Anatomy of a blog absence

Since my last post:

  • 1 shiny new academic year
  • 1 month
  • 24 working days
  • 30 full-time equivalent days at work
  • 85 student employee applications
  • 24 interviews
  • 10 students hired and trained
  • 4 performances
  • 5 musicians
  • 8 actors - playing 40 roles
  • 8 dancers arriving on 7 different flights from 6 different airports
  • 1 dancer ACTUALLY making it on time, on the originally scheduled flight
  • 8 cases of bottled water
  • 9 lbs of nuts
  • 1200 miles commuting
  • 35 hours commuting
  • 3 possum, 2 rabbits, and 1 fox on a recent late-night commute home
  • 1 successful grant, just a final report to complete.
  • 6 ears of corn, 4 cukes, 2 squash, 4 tomatoes, 4 apples, 3 beets - ALL picked fresh for $4.20, at the local roadside farmstand!
  • 100,000 falling leaves
  • 2 harvest festivals, 1 foliage train ride, 1 tractor parade
  • WAY TOO FEW stolen moments with MrMaple and MiniMaple
I SO miss reading my favorite blogs, and I sincerely plan to post again soon, as my schedule should finally start relaxing again. Thanks for hanging in there, dear friends!

We've missed you so. I hope all is well with Mr. Maple, and if there is a way to help or support you all, that you will tell us.

Thanks so much Bernie for your support. I've missed you too! Enjoyed catching up on your podcasts. I particularly enjoy the theme song. I'm also loving Studio 60...it is the ONLY thing I've stayed current with lately.

Loev to you and yours...

Since your last post for me:

1 shiny new academic year (I'm in school too!)

1 month (of checking to see if there was a new post)

24 working days (has it really been that many? that's 4 paychecks...what did I do with all of that money?)

30 full-time equivalent days at work (how many hours are in your day?)

85 student employee applications (to find just the right one, yes?)

24 interviews (oh the joy!)

10 students hired and trained (no small undertaking!)

4 performances (and I sure that was just at work, huh?)

5 musicians (playing 5 different tunes?)

8 actors - playing 40 roles (meaning?)

8 dancers arriving on 7 different flights from 6 different airports (each with there own different travel security horror story, I'm sure)

1 dancer ACTUALLY making it on time, on the originally scheduled flight (hey, look at that...the system really does work!)

8 cases of bottled water (consumed in one sitting?)

9 lbs of nuts (anyone allergic?)

1200 miles commuting (that like driving from here to Florida...or something.)

35 hours commuting (to listen to all of those books on tape...or podcast lectures)

3 possum, 2 rabbits, and 1 fox on a recent late-night commute home (and a partridge in a pear tree)

1 successful grant, just a final report to complete (you go girl!)

6 ears of corn, 4 cukes, 2 squash, 4 tomatoes, 4 apples, 3 beets - ALL picked fresh for $4.20, at the local roadside farmstand! (good to see you're still eating your veggies during this busy time!)

100,000 falling leaves (hey...cool...that's how many I counted too!)

2 harvest festivals, 1 foliage train ride, 1 tractor parade (...mmm...it was nice to see you and the maples at the harvest festival)

WAY TOO FEW stolen moments with MrMaple and MiniMaple (amen to that...)

...and of course...what has been happen the most since your last post is the habitual clicking of all of your friends wondering if we should just "refresh" the page one more time thinking you are just about to post...phew!...now I can put the mosue down again...

((( ...I wonder when you'll follow this post up with another... ;-) )))

Thanks Ethan's Dad, RL, and AM for your kind comments and continued support/reading/clicking, etc.!

ED & AM - apparently great minds think alike - or at least in carol form!

Thanks again!

Thank goodness your back! We missed you!!!! I find it humorous that the only way that we communicate the best these days is via Blogging. I can't convince Jax to write one so I still talk to her on the phone - that ancient instrument - while we are driving to various places....

So glad you are back and you know if you need me for anything I am here!

LOEV!!!!!!!!!!!!
